Tasmania: Part 2
The next phase of our Tasmania trip saw us in search of adventure. First stop was the Tahune AirWalk, a large bridge walk that takes you through the tops of the forest canopy and provides fantastic views across Huon Valley.
We then drove up to the start of the Hartz Peak track, an 8km Grade 4 hike. I missed the Grade 4 part when I was researching the hike, so it proved to be a bit tougher than we expected! The first two thirds of the hike is quite easy, with a gradual ascent that takes you through marshland and a chance to stop at the beautiful Lake Esperance for a bite to eat. It is only the last third that becomes a bit more challenging, but it was so worth it. When we reached the summit, we had 360 degree uninterrupted views of Southern Tasmania. Easily the highlight of the trip.
